As a Registered Dietitian (RD), I had two Ivy League nutrition degrees from Cornell University and Yale University… but I was so scared of gaining weight that I avoided following sports nutrition guidelines to EAT MORE FOOD.
So, instead, I was stuck in a cycle of under-eating and bingeing
(& sometimes purging).
I was constantly worried about my health, but felt too embarrassed to ask for help. So instead, I tried diet after diet, desperately trying to break free of the binge-restrict cycle, all while training for half-marathons, marathons and 5ks.
I was sure that if I could just get the next diet right, then I’d finally stop bingeing, "get healthy" and find happiness within myself.
But nothing worked. And the bingeing, restricting, and purging continued...
Then I discovered...
After 10+ years of dieting, restricting, binge eating and purging, I was desperate for a solution. Macro counting, low carb, keto, paleo, calorie counting… nothing worked for more than just a few months.
And, one day, I discovered the reason WHY nothing worked long-term.
Studies on weight-loss diets confirm that nearly 95% of dieters regain all or more of their initial weight loss by the two year mark.
So...Why was no one talking about this?! I had TWO Ivy League degrees in nutrition and yet this well-supported fact was never discussed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As soon as you sign up, check your email! You'll have received your receipt as well as immediate access to the video modules. You will also be manually added to weekly group calls by Serena (so please allow 24 hours on business days for Serena to enroll you!). The start date for the next group will be announced soon!
Team calls require between 45-75 minutes a week, on average. There are 8 modules total with lifetime access to the modules. The videos will require between 15-30 minutes per week. Remember that all calls are recorded (except 1:1) so you can always catch the replay.
However, the homework given to you as goals each week has been created to SAVE you time as you reduce overwhelm around food choices.
ABSOLUTELY NOT. Most clients DO NOT participate in food journaling (or only do so short term) and still have great success in the program. Think of journaling as a temporary extra way for Serena to hold your hand (if it would feel HELPFUL for you!). It is not important or necessary for you to heal your relationship with food.
I understand! Food Freedom Runner Academy requires you to prioritize up to two hours (but most weeks, less than that) a week of time. The intention is to save you time overall as you gain clarity around what to eat, how to meal prep/plan and reduce the amount of time and energy you spend worrying about food.
All the calls are recorded so you never have to worry about missing anything! Even clients who were unable to attend ANY live calls, but were consistent about watching the replays, communicating with Serena and following the modules, have had great success with stopping the diet cycle, finding food freedom and improving their performance.
Calls will take place at different days & times throughout the 8 weeks. Generally calls last 45-75 minutes. All calls are recorded and available for replay.
You will have lifelong access to the modules after purchase.
Absolutely!!! This program teaches female runners of ALL levels how to fuel properly! Successful food freedom athletes have ranged from new couch to 5k runners to long-time ultra runners!
Absolutely. SO MUCH support!! :) The groups are kept small (less than 10 women per group) so I can get to know each of you individually! Additionally, you’ll have access to additional support by participating in the private facebook community discussion, logging food in the Healthie food journal (if you desire!) or by sending me a private message through the Healthie portal. We also have a 1:1 call at the start of our journey to fully customize the experience.
No, but you can usually use your HSA/FSA card to pay for Food Freedom Fit Fam.
Usually, yes! Please contact your insurance to see if you need a note from a doctor , but usually my clients have no issues using their HSA/FSA card. I am happy to provide any documentation or superbill if necessary.
